Greenpeace attacks Toxic Organo Tin Stabilizer, DBT
1. The full name of DBT is Di-Buty-Tin stabilizer. It is highly toxic and is used in shipping paint to prevent shells from adhering to the haul of the ship. Therefore DBT and other industrial grade organo tin are spreaded to the ocean and cause contamination to the marine environment. These chemicals will be banned in 1st January, 2003.

2. There are two types of Organo Tin stabilizer:
Food contact grade
Industrial grade, eg: DBT, TBT
When choosing tin stabilizer, you must make sure that it is food contact approved and does not contain DBT.¡@
