Replacement of Lead stabilizer by Grandstab BS715 Ca/Zn Powder stabilizer.
1. The use of Lead stabilizer in PVC pipes has been attacked for many years because of its toxic nature. Grandstab BS715 Ca/Zn/Al/Mg powder stabilizer is used to replace lead stabilizer. Its advantages are as follows:
BS715 has good thermal stability;
BS715 is food contact approved (USA's FDA and Europe's 90/128/EEC);
BS715 contains no phenol, no heavy metals and no phthalates;
BS715 is odorless, while tin stabilizer has very bad odor;
BS715 is competitive in price;
BS715 does not have blackening problem when in contact with lead stabilized product, not to mention the problem faced by recycling;
BS715 makes a whiter base colored product than lead stabilizer;
BS715 is a fine white powder and is easy to use and is suitable for automatic feeding.
Sometimes tin stabilizer is used to replace lead in PVC pipe, however, it has a major problem, when tin stabilized pipe is in contact with lead stabilized pipe, blackening will occur. However, BS715 Ca/Zn stabilizer does not have this problem.

On top of that, the weathering property of Ca/Zn is better than tin stabilizer.
